Applications are only available during our application period. We only accept applications filled out and submitted 在线 during the following times:

General 入学 Information

Before applying to the 职业阶梯 护理 程序, please review the following admission requirements and recommendations.

护理 students 必须 have the ability to communicate safely, accurately, and effectively in both written and spoken English in a rapidly changing health 护理 environment.

Transcripts and applications are not kept on file. Prior applications and transcripts are shredded after the completion of the selection process.

All applicants should submit a PDF copy of official transcripts from any college attended outside of Pasadena City College. All applicants are required to upload a copy of official transcripts from each college (including Advanced Placement transcript scores) attended with your 在线 application. Official transcripts may be requested throughout the process for verification or upon admission 到程序中.

Follow these basic directions for scanning documents to your 在线 application:

    • Open and scan the official transcripts using a device such as a printer or scanner
    • Follow the scanner manufacturer's directions to scan each document to your computer 或u盘
    • Select the PDF file format option before scanning. Only PDF files of your transcripts and other supporting documents will 被接受. Formats such as JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIF, screenshot, word documents, etc. will not 被接受 for the application process.
    • Save your PDF document to a folder in a location on your computer or removable drive that you can easily access (Desktop or Documents folder is suggested)

      注意: 学生 who do not have access to a personal scanner may choose to use a commercial copying center to have their required documents scanned and made into PDFs that then may be uploaded as part of your application.

      Follow these basic directions for uploading documents to your 在线 application:
    • When prompted on  the application to upload your documents marked "Drop Files here or Select Files" click on this button
    • Find the PDF files you want to upload from your computer or flash drive.
    • Select the file by double clicking on it (tap twice)
    • 你r file will be uploaded.

English 001A Reading and Composition, Anatomy 025 Human Anatomy, Physiology 001 Human Physiology, Chemistry (college chemistry with a lab), and Microbiology 002 Microbiology 必须 be completed with a minimum 2.5 GPA before you can apply to the 职业阶梯 程序.  It is preferred that the basic science courses; anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and microbiology be completed within the past five years with a grade of “C” or higher. The BRN requires a C or better in all BRN required coursework in order to be considered 对许可.

It is recommended that you complete non-nursing courses prior to beginning the RN 程序. The 程序 is very rigorous and students will generally not be able to manage additional classes or work during the semesters they are in the 程序.

An Assessment/Readiness test is required. This is a basic test of reading, vocabulary, math and science that is highly correlated with success in a registered nursing 程序. A minimum score of 62 is required to apply to the nursing 程序. 研究材料 to prepare for or help raise your TEAS score can be found in ATI's Smart Prep for 茶在 http://atitesting.com/teas/smart-prep Register and pay the test fee through ATI and take the proctored exam in person or 在线. Official transcripts 必须 be sent to PCC 护理 for consideration in admission. 学生 who apply that have met all other admissions criteria and do not meet the established TEAS eligibility criteria will be given the option to participate in a TEAS remediation 计划. After successful completion, students are eligible to retake the TEAS exam and reapply for entry into the nursing 程序. If the remediation 计划 is not complete by the deadline, the student is encouraged not to retake the TEAS exam or re-apply 到程序中.

If you have previously purchased your TEAS transcript to be sent to Pasadena City College ADN Program electronically, you will not be able to resend your TEAS transcript if you are reapplying 到程序中.  Once the TEAS transcripts have been sent electronically, it will be saved in our system.  你 必须 upload a PDF file of your TEAS transcript to your application each time you apply.

TEAS 7 scores will 被接受.

注意: Beginning with the 7月5日- 20日, 2023 application, only the TEAS 7 score will 被接受. 

Individuals applying to participate in the 职业阶梯 护理 Program at Pasadena City College who have previously attended or were dismissed from another nursing 程序 may be asked to submit a 信 of patient safety in clinical practice. 护理 Program Director from the nursing 程序 the student attended should provide the 信. The patient safety 信 should be addressed to the Dean of 健康科学, who will share the 信 with the Pasadena 护理 Program Director to determine if any other action needs to be taken.

A Social Security number is required to be admitted 到程序中. 临床地点 we use require each student to have a social security number to register and chart in the electronic medical record (EMR) and complete the clinical portion of their 护理教育.

Valid California LVN license. Print out a copy of your license verification from http://www.bvnpt.ca.gov/consumers/license_verification.

Submission of an application packet does not guarantee admission.

Late submission of application, transcripts, or other supporting documents is not 接受.

1  Apply for admission to PCC

If you are not currently enrolled at PCC, you need to apply for admission to the college, in addition to applying to the 职业阶梯 护理 Program. 现向PCC申请.

Please Note: Acceptance to the college is not an acceptance into the nursing 程序. College admission is necessary and allows you to obtain a PCC ID number.

2   Complete 你r Application Packet

To apply to the 职业阶梯 护理 程序 you need to submit an 在线 application 这包括:

  • A completed 职业阶梯 Program Application.

For submitting transcripts with your 在线 职业阶梯 application:

  • All applicants should submit a PDF copy of official transcripts from any college attended outside of Pasadena City College. All applicants are required to upload a copy of official transcripts from each college (including Advanced Placement transcript scores) attended with your 在线 application. Official transcripts may be requested throughout the process for verification or upon admission 到程序中. 这还包括 your LVN 护理 School transcripts.  If you are submitting Advanced Placement coursework to meet any requirement an official A.P. transcript 必须 be submitted.  验证 of any advanced degrees you have earned 必须 be posted to your transcripts.

  •  One official transcript from the LVN school you graduated from 必须 be scanned, saved as a PDF file and uploaded to your application.
  • Copy of your current California LVN license verification printed from the BVNPT website http://www.bvnpt.ca.gov/consumers/license_verification 
  • Attach a copy of your TEAS transcript with an Adjusted Individual Total score of 62 or higher to your 在线 程序 application. In addition, request ATI send your TEAS results to PCC unless you have previously sent your TEAS transcript electronically from ATI to Pasadena City College ADN 程序.
  • Documentation of all applicable criteria for awarding points.

Incomplete applications will not be considered in the selection process. 后期的应用程序, transcripts and/or supporting documents will not 被接受 after the deadline date.

  • Relevant health护理 certificates, current patient 护理 experience, veteran status, previous academic degree 
  • Life experiences or special circumstances of an applicant (all applicants receive 最大点数)
  • Proficiency or advanced coursework in languages other than English

We will notify applicants to the Career 护理 Program by email approximately 10 weeks after the close of the application period.

Upon acceptance to the  程序, you will be required to:

  1. Complete a 健康 Clearance (forms will be provided) and enter medical and immunization data into CastleBranch.com.
  2. Covid 19 and Influenza vaccinations are required for clinical rotations.
  3. Complete an annual 背景调查 through CastleBranch.com to be able to attend clinical experiences. Details regarding these clearances will be provided with the acceptance packet upon selection. Clinical affiliation sites require an unencumbered 背景调查.

The nursing 程序 requires a clear drug screen each semester you are providing patient 护理.

If you have questions or concerns about the drug screen or 背景调查, we encourage you to make an appointment to discuss these concerns with the nursing 程序 director. 你 can also view some of the issues on the BRN website at www.rn.ca.政府.

How to Provide 你r Transcripts to PCC's 招生 and 记录 Office:

 It is your responsibility to request the transcripts from the schools you have attended and ask that they be sent directly to the PCC 招生 & 记录办公室. 所有的记录 from other schools 必须 be official.
